The Yellowjackets (20-8, 10-4) ended their season Saturday afternoon in Weatherford with an 11-4 defeat at the hands of district 7-5A champion the Paschal Panthers (29-3). Luke Edmiston and Ryan Finley pitched three innings each in the loss while Beaux Douthitt lead the Cleburne offense with two hits and an RBI. Cleburne struck first when Malachai Cunningham walked, stole second and scored on Douthitt's single to center. In the top of the second, Darren Neugent's double moved Wyatt East, who had drawn a walk, to third. With runners at second and tird and one out, East came home on a passed ball and Cunningham's sacrifice scored Neugent and the lead was 3-0. Paschal countered with four runs in the bottom of the inning and after they tacked on another run in the fourth, grew the lead to 5-3 with a single tally in the fourth. Cleburne responded with a run in the fifth on a single by Douthitt, who then stole second. Zander Ballenger sacrificed him to third and he came across to cut the Panther lead to 5-4 on Carter Howe's sacrifice to first. Paschal exploded for six runs in the sixth inning to finalize the score at 11-4.
